PNV Workshops | |||||||
|
In even-numbered years Pacific Northwest Viols sponsors a week-long viola da gamba workshop directed by Seattle’s Margriet Tindemans. Usually held in early July and limited to 35 registrants, the workshop features a superb faculty from across the nation, allowing small class and consort sizes as well as personal instruction and attention. The setting for the 2006 Workshop was the rustic campus of Bastyr University, located on the northeastern perimeter of lovely Lake Washington. The 2006 guest faculty included Wendy Gillespie, Julie Jeffries, Brent Wissick, Jack Ashworth, and David Morris. In addition to the biyearly workshops, PNV occasionally conducts a one-day workshop in lieu of a Play Day, also directed by Margriet Tindemans. The 2006 Workshop faculty included David Douglass, Ray Nurse, and Elizabeth Reed. This year Pacific Northwest Viols held its Summer Workshop July 6-12 at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. The faculty for the 2008 Workshop included director Margriet Tindemans, Jack Ashworth, Lee Inman, Larry Lipnik, Mary Springfels, and Craig Trompeter. |
