Pacific Northwest Viols

Pacific Northwest Viols (PNV) is a chapter of the Viola da Gamba Society of America. It is incorporated and licensed as a not-for-profit organization to provide educational opportunities for its members, to promote awareness and understanding of the instrument in the community, and to provide a means for people who enjoy the instrument and its music to share the experience of playing together. Although most activities take place in the Greater Seattle area, members who regularly attend PNV functions come from British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon.

PNV hosts a number of "Play Days" throughout the season in which we bring in talented gamba instructors from throughout the country.  More info on Play Days can be found by clicking on the link below -- here is a quick summary of our presenters for the 2023-2024 season:

  • Saturday, November 18, 2023:         Josh Lee
  • Saturday, January 13, 2024:             Mary Springfels
  • Saturday, March 9th or 16th, 2024:  Erik Andersen (date TBA)
  • Saturday, May 11th, 2024:                David Morris

Our final 2023 circuit rider with Wendy Gillespie will be from Friday, December 8th - Sunday, December 10th.  Look for a sign-up to be sent a couple of weeks prior.
